LIVE CONDITIONAL CHESS
Don’t wait your turn.
Type the moves you expect from your opponent, with your answer to each. Bank a line for every reply you expect, and each one fires the moment they play into it.
Free to play. No account to start.
1Recorded from the game
They move. You’ve already answered.
Tap the recording for full screen.
White plays Bxd7+ and, while Black thinks, types the rest of the line.
Enter locks it in. Nothing more to do until Black answers.
Black plays Nxd7 and Qb8+ is played at once. Nxb8 is forced, and Rd8# is mate.
2How it works
Write moves the way you read a game score: your move, the reply you expect, your answer to it, and so on as deep as you have calculated. Tab finishes the move you are typing.
Press Enter. The game plays your first move and keeps the rest. Your opponent cannot see it.
Each time they play what you bet on, your answer is played at once. Their move was already teal on your screen before it was real.
After Qb8+ the only legal reply is Nxb8, and Rd8# is mate. A forced reply is the safest bet there is.
3Branches
One line, as far as you can see. It covers one reply at every step.
Press j to start another line, and cover a second reply. What a row shares with the one above it is dimmed.
If they play something else, the line that missed is struck through and the others keep waiting. Hold P at any time to see the real game.
4Why it feels different
While your opponent considers a move, you are already calculating the next three. In a normal game that work is lost the moment they deviate. Here it stays armed: every reply you expected has an answer waiting, and a line that fits is played the moment their move arrives.
So the skill is reading your opponent, and committing to it.
5Ways to play
A bot that plays like a human rated 1100, 1500 or 1900, and types like one, with a think time, a typing speed and the odd slip. Choose how fluent it is as well as how strong.
Prove a forced mate. One program has to answer every defence, and a wildcard covers many replies in a single line.
Send a link and play. No sign-up.
A new proof every day, and a card to share how short yours was.
6Questions
A premove is one queued move. Conditional moves are a tree: your move, the reply you expect, your answer, and as many branches as you have calculated. Correspondence players know them as conditional moves. This is the same idea played live.
No. You type moves as in a game score, e4, Nf3, O-O. The one extra thing is that you also type the reply you expect.
Speed helps, but it is not what is being tested. The bot has a fluency setting separate from its chess strength, so you can learn the language at a gentle pace and turn it up when you are ready.
The line that missed is struck through and your other lines keep waiting. You then type a new plan on the live board.
